About

An independent firm for projects that cannot afford to go wrong

Joltek is consulting and execution leadership for complex automation and modernization work. Controls, SCADA, MES, OT networks and plant data. We are paid by the manufacturer, and by nobody else.

The work

What we actually do

Manufacturers bring us in when a critical automation or modernization initiative needs technical ownership, or when it is unclear, under-owned, overloaded, or technically stuck. We step into complicated plant situations, work out what actually matters, and help teams move from uncertainty to a working, supportable result.

The most valuable moment to be involved is before anything has gone wrong, while a project is being scoped and the money has not yet been committed. That is also the moment it is hardest to justify bringing anyone in, which is precisely why so many of these projects end up needing recovery instead.

Where the judgment comes from

We delivered the projects. Then we inherited them.

Capital projects at Procter & Gamble, then maintenance leadership at Kraft Heinz, then a greenfield expansion at Post Holdings. The order is the point.

Delivery people leave before they find out whether what they installed was supportable. Maintenance people never carried the schedule pressure. Joltek was founded by someone who did both, in that sequence, which is why running is not the same as supportable is a sentence we can say with a straight face.

Independence

We are paid for the advice. Nothing we recommend pays us a second time.

The integrator sells the implementation. The vendor sells the licence. The distributor sells the hardware. Our fee is the same whether the answer is a new platform, keeping what you have, or doing nothing this year.

Vendor-independent, but not opinion-neutral. When one platform is genuinely better for a situation, we say which and why. Commercial relationships, where any exist, are disclosed in full.

What we believe

Ownership before technology.
Trust before visualization.

Projects fail because nobody owns the complete outcome, not because the technology is incapable. Almost every recovery engagement we are called into could have been avoided by one person holding the whole picture six months earlier.

And plants do not need another dashboard. They need systems that keep producing information people trust. A number nobody believes is worse than no number at all, because it gets argued about in meetings instead of acted on.

Fit

Defined by operational complexity, not by industry

The work suits plants where production depends heavily on automation, legacy and modern systems coexist, several vendors touch the environment, downtime is expensive, and internal engineering is stretched.

The strongest signal is simpler than any of that: you have been burned before. A failed modernization in the last three years, two competing platforms left over from a half-finished migration, or a decision you inherited from someone who has since left.

Boundaries

What Joltek is not

Stated plainly, because being clear about this saves everyone a wasted first call.

Not staff augmentation

We are not billed as a pair of hands, and we do not compete with your integrator on labour rate.

Not a reseller

Joltek sells no software and no hardware. No product line, no partner tier, no margin on what we recommend.

Not generic consulting

The work does not stop at the plant door with a strategy deck. It continues through commissioning and handoff.
